Marek Hamsik insists that he will stay with Napoli this season, ending any speculation of a move to Inter Milan.

Hamsik performed outstandingly in the Serie A last season, a campaign that saw him get nominated as the young Slovak footballer of the year.

According to Serie A insiders, the 21-year-old midfielder had a chance to join the Nerazzurri, but declined the opportunity.

 The Partenopei have also declared that they will not be forced into any deal that will rob them of their prized asset.

"I still have a long contract with Napoli, so I can confirm that I will remain here," Hamsik declared in an interview with SkySport24.

"We have made some key signings so far, and all of these great players will help this team grow further."
