Inter Milan will begin the defence of their Serie A title on Sunday August 23 after the 2009/10 season calendar was announced.

The campaign will end on May 9, one month before the World Cup kicks off in South Africa.

The Serie A season will close down from December 21 until January 3 for the Christmas break.

Midweek games will be played on September 23, October 28, January 6 and March 24.
