Nedved retires from football

Pavel Nedved has decided to hang up his boots after an 18-year career that saw him play for Sparta Prague, Lazio and Juventus.

Nedved's agent, Mino Raiola, said via a statement, "I am not playing football anymore."

According to Il Corriere dello Sport, the Czech midfield maestro had long ago decided to retire from the sport, but decided to take a holiday before confirming the decision.

Nedved was reportedly offered a contract by Inter Milan this offseason, with the Bianconeri also offering him a coaching role within the club.

The former Czech Republic international has not decided on the coaching stint, but has turned down the chance to don the Nerazzurri jersey.

Inter fans won't be too disappointed by the decision, though, as they already disapproved of the move, jeering during matches after rumours linked Nedved with Jose Mourinho's team during the season.
