Sampdoria open to Cassano talks
Antonio Cassano is the subject of transfer rumours linking him to Inter Milan after a terrific season with Sampdoria.
Blucerchiati sporting director has declared that he is open to talking to other clubs about Cassano, but a serious offer has to be tabled.
"There has been no contact with Inter, but if they asked about Cassano obviously we would sit around a table to discuss it, also for a question of respect," he said. "Inter could certainly put players on the table who might be important for Sampdoria."
On the 20 million euro clause in the player's contract, Marotta said: "We were the first in Italy to introduce this formula and we did it to facilitate an eventual decision on Antonio's part. However, he always showed enthusiasm toward Sampdoria, so I don't think a transfer will take place during this campaign."
Cassano was loaned to Sampdoria from Real Madrid in the offseason of 2007, and joined the club on a permanent basis the following year. The Italian international has scored 22 Serie A goals for the Blucerchiati.
