Nedved rules out Juve return

Pavel Nedved has turned down a job on Juventus' backroom staff and reiterated his playing career in Italy is over.

The former Czech Republic international retired from football earlier this summer after helping Juve finish runners-up in Serie A and has since been offered the chance to remain with the Old Lady.

But he told Gazzetta dello Sport: "For the moment, unfortunately, I must decline the invitation of Juventus to hold a managerial or technical role."

Champions Inter have reportedly been considering an attempt to lure the 36-year-old to the San Siro to reinforce their midfield, but Nedved has no intention of joining Juve's rivals.

"I decided to quit - at least in Italy," he said.

"I thank the people and clubs that have expressed interest and confidence in me and were ready to let me take to the field for another year.

"I do not feel that I can wear a shirt other than the one for which I fought for so many years."
