Juventus coach Ciro Ferrara claims Pavel Nedved is close to joining his backroom staff.

Nedved retired from football this summer after eight years with the Bianconeri.

Speculation continues that the 36-year-old could return to Lazio or move to America, but Ferrara believes the former Czech Republic midfielder will stay on at the Stadio Olimpico as part of his coaching team.

"I spoke to Pavel last night," said the Juve boss. "I have the impression that at the moment he wants to take a break, but he's very interested in our proposal.

"He will work on the pitch with me. It's not official yet."
