Ciro Ferrara has admitted that Inter Milan are the favourites for win the upcoming Serie A campaign.

This is despite Ferrara making some astute signings this offseason in the hope of improving enough immediately to contend for the Scudetto. Fabio Cannavaro was signed from Real Madrid, Deigo was acquired from Werder Bremen and the Felipe Melo transfer is currently in the closing stages.

Ferrara has been busy planning for the upcoming season, but he is staying humble and hungry as he rate Inter as the current standard bearer.

"Mourinho is disappointed? Inter remain the favourites," Ferrara is quoted as saying by Goal.com Italia.

"Sometimes you have to stay away from certain declarations in order to allow others to be on the front pages."

"You can say Inter are the favourites. Milan and Fiorentina are also there. It's better to let the others make the front pages and for us to work in the dark."
