Milan shut the door on Fab
Italian giants AC Milan have confirmed that they have 'closed' their deal for Sevilla's Luis Fabiano.
Milan's lawyer Leandro Cantamessa has spoken out in response to Fabiano's agent Jose Fuentes, who had blamed the club for the breakdown of the deal.
In previous reports, Fuentes mentioned that the offer placed by the Rossoneri of €14 million was too low, and it was up to the club to find a solution.
Fuentes' statement did not go down well with Cantamessa.
Speaking to Calciomercato.it, he said: "It's all a question of opinion. Fuentes feels the money is not enough, whereas we feel it is,
"Has the deal failed? I don't think so no. That's not the right word to describe it.
"We made an offer, they never replied on paper but they used strong words in a press conference to give a negative response.
Fabiano who is under contract with Sevilla for another two seasons, has a £26million release clause.
Sevilla coach Manolo Jimenez has also mentioned that Milan's bid was "not good enough".
The Brazilian striker who was initially interested in a move to the San Siro will now render his prolific goal-scoring services to Sevilla for another season.
Cantamessa went on to confirm the 'shut door' at Milan.
"For now the deal is closed and if Sevilla don't value our offer then we will pull out," Cantamessa said.
