Martin Caceres is set to join Juventus on loan after requesting to leave Barcelona at the conclusion of a frustrating season.

Caceres arrived in Turin early Saturday and passed his medical with the Bianconeri. The only thing left to seal the deal is an official announcement from both clubs.

Upon arriving in the Italian city, Caceres told AS: "I am really happy to be here at Juventus, I cannot wait to start."

The 22-year -old, who has been capped 15 times by Uruguay, will start training with his new team-mates when they return from the Peace Cup in Spain.

The defender hopes to emulate the success of fellow compatriot Paolo Montero who enjoyed nine seasons with the Old Lady.
