Inter closing in on Sneijder
Inter Milan are close to acquiring Wesley Sneijder on a season-long loan from Real Madrid as both teams iron out details to the deal.
Real president Florentino Perez is keen to offload Sneijder in a sale, but a report from the La Gazzetta dello Sport indicates that Inter will pay €7 million for a year-long loan, with an option to purchase the player at the end of the season for €13m.
The news has reportedly disappointed Aston Villa, who were keen to sign the player if the Inter deal fizzled out.
The 25-year-old is said to welcome any moves out of the Bernabeu. Sneijder is currently unlikely to play regularly for Los Blancos after their major makeover this offseason. The Dutchman has also been told by national side coach Bert van Marwijk that his place in the squad is not assured if he is not playing for his club.
The Nerazzurri are rumoured to have Rafael van der Vaart, Pablo Aimar, Yoann Gourcuff and Ivan Rakitic on their wishlist if the Sneijder deal falls through.
