Melo criticizes Ronaldo's behaviour

Juventus signing Felipe Melo has spoken out against Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo's conduct in the Peace Cup.

Juve beat Real in the semi-finals of the pre-season Peace Cup, but Melo has been left unimpressed by Ronaldo's actions at the end of the game.

Instead of congratulating the Juve players, Ronaldo expressed unhappiness and walked off the pitch. In an interview, Melo said despite the talent, Ronaldo was far from gracious in defeat.

"He should watch players such Buffon and Del Piero and see how they behave. He is a great player but he did not act sportingly," he said to Gazzetta dello Sport.

"After our victory against Real Madrid, Ronaldo behaved like we had won the league."

Melo then reflected on his new side's pre-season preparations, where they reached the finals of the Peace Cup but lost 4-1 in a later friendly to Villareal.

"The league had not started when we played Madrid and fortunately nor had it when we lost to Villarreal, which came at the right time."

"We can learn from these games and improve until the season begins."

Asked about the Champions League, Melo said he was hopeful but expected tough competition in the latter stages.

"Barcelona, Manchester United, Chelsea, Madrid and Inter are all very good teams, I think they will do well," he concluded.

Melo joined Juventus from Fiorentina this summer after winning the Confederations Cup with Brazil, and will be hoping to make a big impact with the Old Lady.
