Lippi backs Old Lady for Scudetto
Italy coach Marcello Lippi has tipped his old club Juventus to win the Serie A title this year.
During an interview with Sky the much respected boss commented on the upcoming Serie A season, stressing that the losses of Kaka and Zlatan Ibrahimovic to the Italian game were equalled out by the arrival of stars like Diego, Samuel Eto'o, and Lucio.
"We have not lost much. As usual the championship will be very exciting and very difficult. Not the most beautiful, but the most competitive" he said.
When asked who would be crowned Serie A champions he replied with a succinct "Juventus".
Both the Turin-based outfit and AC Milan have opted to install coaches that are relatively young this season, but Lippi does not believe their age is hindrance.
"The coach has no age. A coach must have intelligence, competence, charisma, personality. All those things you can have at 40-years-old, but maybe not 60 or 65."
Lippi has had two successful stints coaching Juventus, from 1994-1999 and 2001-2004.
