The agent of Julio Baptista claims he is in discussions with Inter Milan over the possible transfer of the striker to the club.

The former Arsenal forward is out of favour with Luciano Spalletti's Roma and there has been speculation over a possible deal with Inter.

"We are talking to Inter for his transfer," said Baptista's agent Herminio Menendez to romagiallorossa.com.

"He could join them on a permanent transfer.

"As far as I know, Baptista has not spoken to Roma.

"The negotiations must be completed soon because on Monday the transfer window ends."

Baptista, who was not in the squad on Sunday when Roma lost 3-2 at Genoa, could be the alternative should Inter fail to lure Real Madrid attacking midfielder Wesley Sneijder to the San Siro.
