Livorno complete two signings

Livorno have moved quickly to replace Alessandro Diamanti with Mozart and Inter defender Nelson Rivas.

According to football-italia.net, the Italian side have officially confirmed both signings after they sold Diamanti to English side West Ham.

“Our transfer market is now closed,” declared President Aldo Spinelli on Radio Kiss Kiss. “With Mozart and Rivas we are complete and are therefore not interested in Inacio Pià.

“Rivas is official, as he has already signed the contract and now we are just waiting for [Inter director Marco] Branca to file the paperwork.

“Rivas is very good and I can guarantee he is not the player we have seen at Inter in recent months. He’ll forge a great centre-back partnership with Diniz.”

Midfielder Mozart is also on his way back to Serie A. The former Reggina midfielder has been around the world with spells at Spartak Moscow and Palmeiras before this return to the Stadio Picchi.

Last night Diamanti said goodbye to fans and teammates as he flew out to London to complete his West Ham move.

“Despite losing Diamanti, Livorno still have [Cristiano] Lucarelli and [Francesco] Tavano, who guarantee many goals,” continued President Spinelli.

“We have plenty of strikers in our squad and will not be bringing in any more.”
