Leonardo pinpoints Milan troubles

AC Milan coach Leonardo was in a reflective mood following his sides 4-0 defeat to bitter rivals Inter.

Speaking to Sky Sports after the game a clearly dissapointed Leonardo explained "Until Inter's first goal, the team was there in the first half an hour.

"We played on the same level against a tough and well-organised team. Before the first goal we were doing well, then we struggled to deal with a difficult moment and in this we have to grow.

"Unfortunately [Gennaro] Gattuso had to go to the hospital to check on his injury, but going back to the substitution I want to say that Clarence Seedorf wasn't ready, which made us lose time."

Gattuso was sent off late in the first half with a second yellow card, just after it seemed he would be replaced by Seedorf.

"We cannot judge the team after just two games, but we've also shown some positive things. We had a moment of insecurity, and then a series of episodes went against us, like Gattuso's injury and the delayed change, caused by the fact Seedorf had to put a bandage to his leg.

"Milan have to keep their identity after a derby which came so soon, while Inter will continue with their certainties of the last few years."

Asked about the performance of Ronaldinho, Leonardo said: "Today he didn't play well, you need more movement against such physical players but I don't want to make judgements on the individual players".
