Maicon: Best to come for Inter
Inter Milan defender Maicon has declared that the best has yet to come for Jose Mourinho's talented side.
The Brazilian full-back bagged the third goal in Saturday's comprehensive 4-0 thumping of bitter rivals AC Milan on a day when reigning champions Inter showed why many observers believe they will once again reign supreme in Italy this season.
However despite the empathic nature of Inter's win, Maicon believes his teammates cannot afford to rest on their laurels.
"I'm happy with what I did, but I'm not in my best shape yet," he said.
"We have to work more to reach 100%, I need it to have a good season. I'm happy about this match because we earned three very important points."
"We have to restart from here however, because even though we played a great match, we know we won't always play like this."
"It's true, in the first fifteen minutes we missed some passes, which we hadn't done in other matches. After that we managed to find space on the pitch and played a great match."
Maicon's strike accompanied goals from Thiago Motta, Diego Milito in a first half that saw Inter race into a three goal lead. Dejan Stankovic added a fourth midway through the second half.
