Buffon: Diego can get even better

Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon praised the performance of midfield maestro Diego in the weekend victory over Roma.

World cup winning keeper Buffon and recent acquisition Diego both starred in the clubs impressive 3-1 victory over Roma at the Stadio Olimpico - a result that fired Juve to joint top of the Serie A standings.

Afterwards Buffon praised new team-mate Diego who capped a highly influential display by scoring twice to maintain the Old Lady's 100% record.

Speaking to sportal.it Buffon said "Diego does things that only a few players can do, but we don't launch any challenge to anyone, he must improve day by day.

"Roma ? They put their heart into the match, but with such a reduced squad, they suffered when playing their fourth game in 10 days."

Buffon himself made a vital contribution to the match, pulling off a fantastic save from Roma skipper Francesco Totti when the score was still locked at 1-1. However the keeper was his usual modest self when asked about its importance.

"I made an important save on [Francesco] Totti," he concluded.
