Genoa dismay over Mancini deal

Genoa president Enrico Preziosi was disappointed his club´s bid to sign Inter Milan winger Mancini fell through at the last minute.

The Brazil star had been strongly linked with a move to Genoa or a return to Roma after failing to earn a regular spot in Jose Mourinho´s outfit since arriving at the San Siro in the summer of 2008.

"I am sad for Mancini," said Preziosi to Radio Incontro. "We had spoken to the lad and his wish was to join us but at the last minute, Mourinho has not given the go ahead.

"I don´t understand why, perhaps it´s because the Portuguese coach fears us or that he feels the player with us could have rediscovered his form."

Mancini, 29, is under contract with Inter until June 2012.
