Ranieri: Roma a dream come true

Claudio Ranieri has revealed his excitement on being announced as the new coach taking charge of AS Roma.

His predecessor Luciano Spalletti resigned from his post after a dismal opening few weeks to the Serie A season.

"Two days ago I knew nothing of this, and all of a sudden I received a phone call that changed my life," Ranieri said in the interview.

"I am feeling so many different emotions at the moment, as I have a number of great memories from this city. So you can imagine what I am feeling."

"It's a dream for me to coach this club, so I am looking forward to getting started. I am aware though that something is wrong at Roma at this time, as that is always the case when there is a change of coach."

"The players are down on themselves and low on confidence, however it is important that we react together and respond. We must wake up immediately."

The ex-Bianconeri coach was asked if he had signed up for the Roma Channel, as his mother had informed the network that he hadn't.

"Yesterday I was immediately told to change the Juventus Channel with the Roma Channel. I will do this for you shortly," the Tinkerman mused.
