Davide Santon may consider leaving Inter Milan in search of first-team football, to boost his chances of making the Italian national side.

"I obviously do want to play at the World Cup for Italy," Santon declared to Sky Sport24.

Santon made his comments in response Fabio Cannavaro's very public interview, who suggested that the youngster should look at his current options, as his appearances with the Nerazzurri could be restricted in the current Serie A campaign.

He continued, "I haven't spoken to Mourinho about this yet, but again, I really would like to make Italy's World Cup squad."

"The advice of Cannavaro? In January, I will consider an experience elsewhere, if it means that I will secure my place at the World Cup."
