Spalletti unhappy with Roma president

Former Roma coach Luciano Spalletti breaks his silence to admit he is "disappointed" by Roma president Rosella Sensi.

According to football-italia.net, Spalletti had responded to Sensi's comments which suggested that the former left the club on his own accord.

The tactician resigned this week just hours after Sensi held a 90-minute meeting with his eventual replacement, Claudio Ranieri.

"It would've been easier to resign in June and maybe then I would have found a new club to lead in Italy," Spalletti told romanews.

"I was disappointed and very bitter about the whole situation. Roma are a great club, they need calm at this moment in time and we can talk on another occasion about whether I was on or off the boat.

"I will say that I gave all of myself to this side."

Spalletti's resignation effectively did President Sensi a favour, as by quitting rather than waiting for the sack, he gave up on wages for the remaining two years of his contract.
