Weah: Leo needs time to improve Milan
George Weah has backed Leonardo to restore AC Milan to greatness, but concedes that the new coach will need time to make the turnaround.
Weah assured the Rossoneri fans that Milan will see another new dawn soon, and reminded them of the 6-0 win over city rivals Inter last year.
"Milan won the first match, and lost the second. It just happened to be in the derby," Weah said to Repubblica.it
"I am saddened when Milan has a bad week. I agree, the match ended 4-0 to Inter, but only a year ago, it ended 6-0 for Milan."
The Milan legend also stated that having Kaka on the pitch that day would not have mattered.
He continued, "This is football, but it could have also occurred with Kaka on the pitch."
"It is not enough to have one player who can change the course of the match."
"We need to give Leonardo some time because he is an intelligent person. He can construct a really strong squad."
