Figo: Eto'o has improved Inter

Former Inter player Luis Figo has praised the contribution made by Samuel Eto'o since his arrival at the San siro.

The recently retired Portuguese superstar made a similar journey to Eto'o back in 2005 when he joined Inter from Spanish giants Real Madrid - going on to make 105 appearances for the club and winning four Scudetti along the way.

Figo was in Milan to help promote the city's bid to host the 2016 UEFA Champions League final, and whilst doing so took some time out to discuss the recent switch that saw his former team-mate Zlatan Ibrahimovic, and Samuel Eto'o trade places.

Speaking to Inter Channel he commented "I must say that you notice immediately with Inter that they have improved a lot this season.

"Their possession of the ball has improved, and they are looking very strong, but they are still going to have to work hard to win.

"[Jose] Mourinho and his players should not fear their rivals, as for me they are amongst the best clubs in Europe.

"Sure they lost Ibrahimovic, who was a great player for the club, but he has been replaced by a great champion in Eto'o, so I don't think that the Nerazzurri will regret their decision."

Inter currently lie third in Serie A, just two points behind table-topping Sampdoria and Juventus, and have yet to taste defeat.

They face Napoli on Wednesday night in a game that could see them move to the top of the table.
