Matthaus loves outspoken Mourinho
Former Inter Milan player Lothar Matthaeus has defended Jose Mourinho - saying his comments are always interesting.
Former Inter and Bayern Munich midfielder Matthaeus was reacting in the wake of Mourinho's inflammatory relationship with the Italian press - with the 'Special One' only recently agreeing to end a self-imposed media blackout.
Matthaeus, who had a successful four year stay with the Nerazzurri and also captained West Germany to World Cup glory in 1990, claimed that Mourinho may be outspoken but at least his views are interesting compared to other coaches.
Speaking to TMW Matthaeus said "I like Mourinho a lot, he is different compared to other coaches.
"When he speaks, he always has something to say that is very interesting.
"The others, a little less," Matthaeus concluded.
The German star played for the Italian giants between 1988 and 1992, scoring 40 goals in his 115 appearances.
