Napoli are on the verge of giving Roberto Donadoni the boot after a series of poor results.

Under Donadoni, Napoli are lying 14th in the table despite heavy investments in the transfer market.

Roberto Mancini and Delio Rossi have both been linked with the Napoli hotseat.

Former Lazio boss Rossi told TuttoMercatoWeb that he is very close to being offered a new job.

He is also said to be at the top of the list of possible replacements for Walter Zenga who is fighting to save his skin at Palermo after a poor start to the season.

"For now there isn't anything new to report. I know that I will be sat on a bench very soon. I would be flattered by a place like Napoli, but for now I haven't had any contact with other Italian clubs," Rossi said.

Rossi has also been linked with Palermo but he didn't elaborate more.

"I cannot make these judgements, also because nothing has happened yet."

Rossi was forced out of Lazio earlier this summer despite leading the team to a historic victory over Sampdoria in the Coppa Italia Final.
