Fiorentina: Jovetic is not for sale
Fiorentina will not be selling striker-of-the-moment Stevan Jovetic "at any price".
Jovetic made headlines in the Champions League after his two-goal blast sunk Liverpool in Florence.
There has been reported interest from English champions Manchester United but Fiorentina will stand firm.
"Jovetic is not for sale at any price," said director of sport Pantaleo Corvino. "When Fiorentina sign a player and he wants to stay, then we will keep him.
"For as long as Jovetic shares our ambitions for Fiorentina, he will remain one of our central figures.
"When a player comes to Florence, he must consider it an achievement rather than a stepping stone and I believe this is the case for Jovetic."
Fiorentina became the first Serie A side to introduce buy-out clauses in their contracts, but not yet for Jovetic.
"When we signed him two years ago, we paid £6m. He was very young and there was no clause. Felipe Melo had a clause worth £7m, Sebastien Frey's is £16m.
"We are putting ourselves in a position so if tomorrow they don't feel like staying, they have the chance to walk away for a set fee."
The Viola have been accused of weakening the squad this summer by selling Felipe Melo to Juventus for £21.5m, but Corvino has other ideas.
"The club owners refused a £20m offer for Luca Toni one year, then £18m for Adrian Mutu the next, not to mention others.
"Then there is a moment, like this year, when we humbly announced the club would be financing itself. Sometimes you have to give up players like Felipe Melo to give yourself the chance to improve in other ways."
