Italian Serie A Saturday Review

Inter Milan thrashed Genoa 5-0 to move back to the top of the Serie A table, three points clear of their nearest rival.

Jose Mourinho's side gained revenge for their 1-0 defeat at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris inflicted by Genoa's city rivals Sampdoria three weeks ago with victory in a one-sided game.

Esteban Cambiasso opened the scoring in the sixth minute before Mario Balotelli and an extraordinary volleyed from close to the halfway line from Dejan Stankovic put the Nerazzurri firmly in command at half-time.

Patrick Vieira and Maicon completed the rout in the second half as Inter moved three points away from Sampdoria, who can draw back level with the defending champions by winning at Lazio tomorrow.

Juventus' winless streak extended to five games as bitter rivals Fiorentina held them to a draw in Turin this evening.

Juan Manuel Vargas gave La Viola an early lead but Amauri equalised for Juventus before the 20-minute mark in an evenly-contested game which left the sides in third and fourth place.
