Dejan Stankovic was thrilled with Inter Milan's first half showing in their 5-0 demolition of Genoa.

The Serbian star was a key figure alongside Wesley Sneijder in the middle of the park and even went on to find the back of the net.

He told Sky after the game, "We were perfect in the first half

"We had many chances to score and scored three goals. In the second half we tried not to spend too much energy but we still scored two goals.

"Winning 1-0 or 2-0 on this pitch is already very good, but winning 5-0 is really great. In defence we didn't risk anything aside from a few free kick situations. We were really perfect.

"When you work well tactically the results can be seen. Absences, even important ones, become less noticeable. My goal? I moved a bit to the right hoping for a mistake on the goal kick, and that's what happened, I was lucky."

Jose Mourinho's team now sit comfortably at the top of the Serie A table with 19 points.
