Burdisso: It wasn’t a spot-kick!

Nicolas Burdisso, the defender who conceded the penalty that allowed AC Milan to equalise against Roma, has claimed it was never a spot-kick.

Burdisso even adds that Alessandro Nesta told him personally that he did not agree with the referee's assessment.

"The penalty? There was nothing, everyone saw it on the television - I took the ball, it was clear," Burdisso is quoted as saying by milannews.it.

"Even Nesta told me that it wasn't a penalty."

Only the Milan centre-back can vouch for Burdisso, but the game is over and there is nothing the Giallorossi can do to make the result disappear.

Claudio Ranieri's Roma now travel to Fulham on Thursday for a Europa League fixture, while the Rossoneri take on Real Madrid at the Bernabeu on Wednesday evening.
