Atalanta vs Parma Preview
Atalanta coach Antonio Conte has challenged his side to improve their home form, starting with Sunday's game against Serie A surprise package Parma.
Conte's men having mustered just two points in four games at the Stadio Atleti Azzurri D'Italia.
"We are working hard and the team is improving," said Conte. "Results at home will be crucial in our fight to remain in the top flight.
"Hence, we must start getting points in Bergamo."
Atalanta go into tomorrow's game in good spirits having celebrated their first win in Serie A on Sunday.
The Bergamaschi beat Udinese 3-1 at the Friuli stadium to climb out of the relegation zone.
The victory was all the more impressive considering Bergamo were without injured striker Robert Acquafresca.
"I am happy with the result," said Conte. "It was not a victory down to luck.
"My players gave a solid performance against a very good side."
The win also ended Atalanta's poor run of form on the road, with their previous away win coming on April 26.
Atalanta's efforts have been in contrast to Parma, who have not wasted any time in making their mark since gaining promotion to Italy's top flight this summer.
Few would have expected the Gialloblu to be fifth in the Serie A standings after eight games and with just two defeats all season.
But Francesco Guidolin's men have shown a fighting spirit and hunger which has earned them the respect of their opponents and the praise of football fans all across Italy.
Having beaten Catania, Palermo and Lazio earlier this term, Parma showed yet again last weekend why they are a team that cannot be underestimated.
Their latest victims were Siena, with Valeri Bojinov's early goal giving the Ducale club all three points.
"I have to congratulate my players," Guidolin said after the encounter. "We deserved this victory.
"Once again they played a good game and I can only be satisfied with my players' performances."
While his team have given away just one goal in two games, the coach sees room for improvement at the other end of the field.
"Having gone in front against Siena we then had at least 10 goalscoring opportunities to kill the game off," Guidolin said. "But we failed to finish one of them and had to suffer to hold onto the result."
Despite Parma having bagged 14 points so far, Guidolin insists his team's only priority this season is to avoid the drop.
"I am only thinking about the 26 points we need to get to secure our Serie A status," he said.
The visitors will be without injured midfield duo McDonald Mariga and Jonathan Biabiany.
Atalanta, meanwhile, will be hoping striker Simone Tiribocchi can again deliver in front of goal, having scored his third goal of the campaign at the weekend.
Conte welcomes back Serbian midfielder Ivan Radovanovic from suspension.
