Siena vs Juventus Preview
David Trezeguet reached one career milestone in midweek and now has his sights on hitting another landmark of his Juventus career.
The French forward notched up his 300th Juventus appearance as the Turin side beat Maccabi Haifa 1-0 in the Champions League on Wednesday.
Now he is just a hat-trick away from jumping a place from fifth to fourth in the list of the club's all-time leading scorer.
Omar Sivori, who played international football for both Argentina and Italy, hit 167 goals for Juve between 1957 and 1965 and currently holds fourth spot on the club's goals list.
Ahead of tomorrow's clash with Siena, Trezeguet told www.juventus.com "Three hundred matches with Juventus is not something that anyone can achieve.
"On a personal level I hope to continue contributing. I need three goals to reach Sivori in the Juventus top-scorers of all time and then I would like to end the season with a positive result, that is by winning the championship or the Champions League."
Helping Juventus land one of the two grand prizes might be a parting gift, as Trezeguet admits his future could lie away from the Stadio Delle Alpi.
The 32-year-old said: "If I were to leave Juve at the end of the season it will surely not be for a choice to do with the sport side: I have been here for 10 years and far from my family.
"My children are growing and at times I really miss them."
Juve, who stood third in Serie A heading into the weekend, are preparing to take on opponents who lie second bottom and have not won any of their opening four home games.
If they choose to stick with their Champions League line-up, Trezeguet will keep his place, however there are suggestions Amauri might be promoted from the bench to take over from the former Monaco man.
The good news for boss Ferrara is that midfielder Felipe Melo should be able to play a full part against the team from Tuscany, after checks showed the ankle injury he sustained against Maccabi Haifa was nothing to worry about, despite initial fears to the contrary.
Siena will be without defender Luca Rossettini who faces up to six weeks out with tendinitis,
Striker Massimo Maccarone said: "It will be tough, but I am convinced we will produce a great performance.
Coach Marco Giampaolo has been experimenting with differing line-ups in training and may opt to field young Croatian midfielder Mato Jajalo behind a front two, in an attacking ploy.
He will be without veteran midfielder Michele Fini, who was sent off in the first half of the 1-0 defeat at Parma last week and begins a three-match suspension.
