Mannini: Great start for Sampdoria
Daniele Mannini has declared that he loves playing for Sampdoria, and is happy to be in a winning side after their 4-1 win over Bologna.
Mannini scored a brace and assisted Reto Ziegler for another goal after Giampaolo Pazzani had scored for the Blucerchiati in the eighth minute. The former Napoli standout praise 'Doria for their team spirit, and hopes this experience does not end.
"I am really happy, I really feel for this Sampdoria team. I feel a part of these wins and also when things go bad. It's been a good start for us," Mannini told Sky Sport Italia after the game.
"The result is fundamental. We played a great first half and closed the game in 45 minutes, and we were able to manage the game well. If only all our first halves are like this.
"We are happy as this shows all the hard work we have been doing."
Sampdoria face Juventus in a midweek showdown which could decide who stays in the running to challenge Inter Milan for Serie A title, even though it is still early in the season. Mannini is cautiously optimistic about the game on Wednesday.
"Juventus? What can I say? We are going to play one of the strongest teams in the league. We have to start running again on Wednesday and we hope to play a good game," concluded the Italian.
