Chievo lament missed chances

Chievo could have grabbed at least a point against AC Milan on Sunday, says coach Domenico Di Carlo.

Milan came from behind to beat the Flying Donkeys 2-1 and the win completed a good week for under-fire Rossoneri coach Leonardo.

They have now recorded three wins in a row to ensure more breathing space for the relieved Brazilian.

But for Di Carlo, it was a match his team could have earned a point.

"One must compliment Milan, just as last season [Nelson] Dida was man of the match here and tonight it was [Chievo goalkeeper Stefano] Sorrentino," he said according to football-italia.net.

"We had the chance to go 2-0 up, then 2-1 up, but conceded and that's football. I think a draw would've been the fair result.

"We did slow down a bit, incredibly, after taking the lead. Milan started moving the ball around and obviously have more quality, so we need to improve in terms of attitude and confidence.

"The Rossoneri did everything they could to win it, but we had our fair share of chances too. I don't believe it was a physical thing, as we only stepped up a gear when we conceded. That is what we need to work on.

"This team was built to attack and that is what we have to do, especially when we are in the lead."
