Frey rates himself in top five

Frey rates himself highly

Fiorentina's French stopper Sebastien Frey claims he is one of the five best goalkeepers in the world.

The Viola have made an impressive start to their Serie A campaign this year and currently sit in fifth place - seven points behind leaders Inter.

And much of that success is due to the performances of Frey who has been in superb form this season, conceding just six goals in nine games.

Speaking to Rai the usually humble Frey said "I do not want to come across as presumptuous, but right now, I'm in the top five goalkeepers in the world.

"In first place, I'd certainly have [Juventus' Gianluigi] Buffon, then Julio Cesar, [Petr] Cech and [Iker] Casillas."

However, despite his impressive form this year he has yet to catch the eye of French coach Raymond Domenech who has yet to call him up to the national team.

He continued, "My performances are limited by not being called upon at national level.

"With Domenech though, I have never fought with him or had any problems, but he does not see me as a player he wants to have in his squad. He has never explained his decision to exclude me."
