Inter free Mancini from contract
Inter Milan and Roberto Mancini have agreed to free the Italian from his contract.
It prompted speculation that Mancini is due to join Real Madrid to replace Manuel Pellegrini as coach.
Pellegrini has been in trouble after a series of poor results at the Spanish club. For Mancini, despite doing well at Inter by winning three league titles, he was still replaced by Jose Mourinho.
When asked if Mancini is about to coach Real, the Italian said: "We'll see what will happens in the coming weeks."
"I have said it once before, at times you never think that you'll train a certain team and then you end up training that very team," Mancini told Sky Sport Italia.
A poll conducted by Spanish newspaper Marca showed that just three per cent of people asked want Mancini in place of Pellegrini.
The fans' favourite turned out to be Michael Laudrup followed by former Spain Coach Luis Aragones.
