Borriello: I almost had to retire
Marco Borriello struck twice to seal AC Milan’s 2-0 win over Parma, and in the process, end a long goal drought brought about by injury.
"It's a nice evening for me and Milan," Borriello told Sky Sports. "I'm doing well, the dark period is over; now I can't wait for Tuesday.
"I'm still not completely fit. I feel it in my legs, I can give more. After the break, I think I'll be at my best. Thankfully things are getting better now.
"I almost could have stopped playing because if I hadn't had the operation on my muscle, it would have been tough to continue playing. So I also thank professor Castellacci, who fixed me up surgically. Now I'm here and I'm enjoying this evening."
Milan have risen to fourth place in the Serie A, and will take on Real Madrid in the Champions League on Tuesday.
