Ghana international Stephen Appiah is excited to be back in Italy after he signed for Bologna.

Appiah has been a free agent after being released from Turkish side Fenerbahce in June 2008.

"I feel good and in the past months I have been working hard, so physically I am ok," said the Ghanian according to football-italia.net.

"I have played many games for Ghana, including in the World Cup qualification games. Now it's time to start working with my new teammates.

"After that it will be up to Franco Colomba to decide whether I should play or not."

Appiah has previously played for Udinese, Parma, Brescia (loan) and Juventus in Serie A.
