Victor Becali, Adrian Mutu’s agent, has confirmed that his client’s rehabilitation from a knee operation is going according to schedule.

Becali has also revealed that Mutu is desperate to getting back in Fiorentina's starting XI.

"Mutu is fine and is undergoing his recovery process with the utmost commitment," the agent told Firenzeviola.it.

"I am sure that Adrian will soon rediscover his usual form."

Mutu had surgery last week to fix a torn meniscus, after guiding La Viola to their 5-2 thrashing of Debrecen in the Champions League.

"Mutu is a fundamental player for Fiorentina," explained Becali.

"It was a very important Champions League clash for the team. They needed his contribution on the pitch and it showed."

Rumours are rife in the press that Fiorentina are set to raid the transfer market in the next transfer window in search of the Romanian's replacement.

"We'll see, it's too early to talk about it," concluded Mutu's agent.
