Huntelaar wants to stay at Milan
AC Milan striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar has reiterated his desire to stay at the San Siro despite a horrible start to his life in Italy.
The 26-year-old made his name as one of Europe's most talented strikers with Ajax, before a big money move took him to the Bernabeu to join Spanish giants Real Madrid in January 2009.
After only half a season in Spain he attracted the attention of the Rossoneri and moved to the San Siro in the summer for a reported fee of €15 million.
However, Huntelaar has failed to hold down a regular place in the first-team - provoking plenty of press speculation that he will be offloaded by the Italian giants in the January transfer window.
However, Milan chief executive Adriano Galliani maintains that Huntelaar will not be sold in the new year and the forward has vowed to work to turn the tide.
Speaking to Dutch reporters who had asked him if a potential return to Ajax was on the cards he replied "It wouldn't be reasonable to go back to the team I left less than a year ago.
"Training sessions went well last week and boss Leonardo has told me to stay patient.
"We are still in November and the season has just started. I was penalized by the fact the team were not playing well.
"But now things are going well. And it means I did not make a mistake in coming here."
Huntelaar has not made an appearance for Milan since October 25 and has yet to open his account for the season.
