Beretta not returning to Siena
Mario Beretta has revealed that talks have broken down with Siena regarding his return to the club.
According to football-italia.net, Beretta who has coached Siena twice before, had hinted of a dramatic return to the Bianconeri.
"I am very disappointed to announce that the negotiations for my return to Siena have definitively collapsed," he said in a statement.
"I believe we do not have the right circumstances for me to do my work and achieve the objective of safety this season."
It means that former youth team tactician Marco Baroni remains in charge for the time being, but the chaotic situation has infuriated fans.
Supporters have already held protests against the club owners this term and warned of disruptive demonstrations in the wake of Beretta's failure to agree a deal.
