Huntelaar: "I want to stay at Milan"

AC Milan striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar has reaffirmed his intention to stay at the San Siro.

The 26-year-old Dutchman has seen little playing time since joining the Rossoneri from Real Madrid in the summer and has been repeatedly linked with a move to the Premier League in the press.

But in the clearest indication yet that he is unwilling to throw in the towel he has vowed to force his way into the starting XI.

Speaking to Sky Sport Italia after featuring in the Netherlands goalless draw with Italy last night he stated "I want to stay at Milan.

"I had my chances at the start of the season, but I was not good enough to make the most of them."

Huntelaar has been regularly benched by Milan coach Leonardo in recent weeks and has slipped behind Italian duo Marco Borriello and Filippo Inzaghi in the pecking order.

"There will be time to recuperate and I'm sure I will have my opportunity too," concluded the ex-Ajax man.
