Maicon to extend Inter deal
Inter Milan have moved to renew Maicon's contract to fend off interest from Manchester United and Real Madrid.
Maicon has agreed to extend his contract after Inter claimed that it's "a done deal," according to his agent.
The Brazilian right-back has been making noises of a move away from the Italian champions and that has attracted suitors from Spain and England. But Maicon's agent has moved to quell speculation over the full-back's future
"It is practically a done deal," declared agent Antonio Caliendo on Calcionews24.net.
"It is basically what we expected and Inter paid special attention to his needs."
The new contract will tie Maicon to the Nerazzurri until 2014, the same expiry as Brazilian teammate Julio Cesar.
Caliendo also represents Ederson and the Olympique Lyonnais star has been linked with Inter.
"For the moment let us say he is not for sale. The Coach doesn't want to lose him, especially as long as Lyon are in Europe.
"Having said that, this is a situation that can be discussed again in future. It's true he could've gone to Inter, but Milan also had an eye on him."
