Maddaloni: Diego has great potential

Juventus' assistant coach, Massimiliano Maddaloni, reckons Diego will become one of the best players in the world one day.

The Brazilian midfielder who joined the Turin giants from German side, Werder Bremen in the summer has enjoyed a great start to life in Italy.

Maddaloni who has been worked with the talented ace in the past few months believes that he is on his way to becoming one of the best players football has ever seen.

Speaking to Tuttosport, Maddaloni declared: "I am sure that Diego will become the world's and Serie A's greatest player,

"People tend to forget that he is still 24-years-old and it is his first season in Italy. [Michel] Platini arrived when he was 27. Diego has quality and great potential."

Maddaloni who made the step up from youth coach to be Ciro Ferrara's assistant is confident that the coaching team can achieve their goals this season.

He said: "I am really happy with Ferrara. It's not always the case that a debutant has success straight away. He has great qualities and knows how to put his ideas into practice,

"We all have clear ideas and trust across the whole spectrum of coaching staff."
