Agent: Baptista not heading to Spurs
Julio Baptista's agent insists there is no truth in reports linking his client with a move to Tottenham.
The Brazil international has struggled to hold down a place in the Roma first-team this season, fuelling speculation that the centre forward will leave the capital club during the January transfer window.
Although the 28-year-old spent the 2007/07 campaign on loan at Premier League side Arsenal it is London rivals Tottenham that are now believed to be interested in Baptista, and could attempt to lure him to White Hart Lane in the new year.
However, the striker's agent has been quick to distance his client from such a move, insisting the former Sevilla and Real Madrid man is willing to fight for a place at Roma.
Speaking to Romannews.eu Herminio Menendez said "There is no truth in these reports claiming he is set for an exchange in January.
"Julio is currently away with the national side. Everything he has said points to a future in Rome."
Baptista scored nine goals in 27 league appearances for the Giallorossi last season but has struggled in his second campaign in Rome and has yet to find the back of the net in five Serie A appearances.
The 28-year-old is under contract with Roma until June 2012.
