Gennaro Gattuso's agent has refuted claims that his client will move to Manchester City in January.

According to reports in the English press the combative AC Milan midfielder had apparently informed friends that he was bound for Eastlands in a bid to boost his chances of playing for Italy in next summer's World Cup.

It was also claimed that Gattuso had a fractious relationship with Milan coach Leonardo, lending more weight to the prospetcs of a move to big-spending City when the transfer window opens in January.

However, his agent Andrea D'Amico claims that there are no problems at the San Siro regarding his client and that Gattuso is staying put.

"There is no truth in the Manchester City link," D'Amico told Sky Sports.

"I have had no contact with Manchester City at this moment.

"Gennaro is coming back from injury and he is okay at Milan."
