Palermo to decide Zenga future
Walter Zenga will face an anxious wait on his future after Palermo club president Maurizio Zamparini claimed 'a decision will be made'.
Zamparini was reportedly livid after Palermo's 1-1 draw with Catania in the Sicilian derby and is thinking of giving Zenga the sack.
Palermo are stuck in midtable with four wins from 13 games.
"I will think it over and make a decision in the morning. We will only speak about this on Monday. I will think it over, running the game through my head all night, and then make a decision in the morning," announced Zamparini on football-italia.net.
"I don't know if the Coach risks the sack," added director of sport Walter Sabatini. "At this moment it is impossible to talk to the President, as his phones are switched off.
"If the President said he would think about it, then that means the issue is still open, otherwise he would've just declared he was angry.
"We will await Zamparini's decision and eventually consider the candidates."
Zenga himself was prepared for the worst, although he tried to maintain his optimistic attitude.
"I have a good rapport with Zamparini that goes beyond football and beyond Palermo," said the Coach.
"As long as the President has faith in me, I will keep working here. The Serie A table is still tight and there are bound to be ups and downs.
"Zamparini says what he thinks. Perhaps he has a bit of a brutal way of putting things, but he is right to be honest."
