Rossi seeking Cup of cheer
Delio Rossi's reign as Palermo boss will begin in the Coppa Italia as the new coach prepares his team to take on Reggina in the fourth round.
Rossi was introduced as the Palermo boss today pledging to pull the club up from their lowly 12th position in the Serie A table, but while the league will be his focus, a good cup run could go a long way to boosting morale.
But while Palermo might be struggling by their own high standards, Reggina are in an even worse fix, stuck in the Serie B relegation zone, and they would appear to be the ideal fodder for Rossi to get off to a quick start.
The fourth round action begins on Wednesday, with Chievo hoping to arrest their own poor form - they have only four points from their last six Serie A games - by beating Serie B's Frosinone, who make the trip to Verona on the back of four straight defeats.
Siena are another club in need of a bump, with only one league all season, and they will aim to take out their frustrations on Lega Pro 1 leaders Novara.
On Thursday, Atalanta also face Lega Pro 1 opposition in the shape of Lumezzane, while Napoli take on Serie B's Cittadella.
