More of the same from Genoa
Genoa coach Gian Piero Gasperini is sticking to his gameplan in their Derby della Lanterna match against Sampdoria.
Speaking on football-italia.net, Gasperini also thinks his rivals will be unchanged in their tactics as well.
“It will be important to play as Genoa. Winning the last two has given us more faith and it has also made us understand that we can win. But we always start again from zero,” Gasperini said.
“There are no favourites. Sampdoria are a team with more dangerous individual values this year. They are a wonderful team with their own precise identity.”
Asked about the prospect of facing Antonio Cassano, Gasperini replied: “By now it's useless to eulogise his quality, but it's not the first time that we have played against him.”
The former Crotone tactician also showed little in the way of trepidation, revealing he knows how Sampdoria will play.
“I think it's quite predictable. They shouldn't stray from their recent game plans.”
Sampdoria are currently leading Genoa by four points behind their rivals in Serie A and lost 3-1 to Genoa in the corresponding fixture last season.
