Ignazio Abate is convinced that AC Milan’s Scudetto chase is back on course after they beat Catania 2-0 to get within seven points of Inter.

Klaas-Jan Huntelaar's last-gasp brace won the game for the Rossoneri and Abate believes that things will only get better for Leonardo's men.

"It was not an easy game as Catania played well, but in the end we always had control of the game," Abate told Tuttomercatoweb.com.

"We were not incisive in the first half but then the two goals from Huntelaar broke the deadlock. I am really happy for him as he has been working hard in training."

Despite being seven points behind Inter in the Serie A table, Abate believes Milan can reduce the point deficit in time to contend for the Scudetto.

"We are all united and we will never give up until the end. I am happy to be part of such a fantastic team," he added.

"We know that if we make an effort we will be able to achieve something good this season."
