President backs Juventus boss
Juventus president Jean-Claude Blanc insists Ciro Ferrara will not be sacked if two big results go against the Bianconeri in the next seven days.
The Old Lady went down 2-0 at Cagliari on Sunday to fall eight points behind Serie A leaders Inter Milan, and face the defending champions in Turin on Saturday.
Three days later, Bayern Munich will be the visitors to the Stadio Olimpico for a match in which defeat would send Juve crashing out of the Champions League.
However, Blanc maintains the outcomes of the two matches will not prove decisive for Ferrara's future.
"The result of the next two games will not change anything," he told Gazzetta dello Sport. "We will go ahead with our project.
"Ferrara is not at risk. He has our (the club's) and my full confidence.
"Ciro works well, has great ability and is a hard worker He has with him a quality staff.
"(They are) two big games for the championship and the Champions League, and of course we will approach them with professionalism, serenity, great effort and work."
Blanc admits the club are going through a "difficult" time but remains upbeat that recovery is just around the corner.
"Other big clubs, such as Real Madrid and Bayern Munich, have had hard times," he added.
"Now it is us and we must work to overcome it. There is little to say, we just have to work and return to the field and win.
"I understand that there may be a bit of nervousness from our fans, but I ask them to tone down the frustration and to take a civilised attitude."
